I had a fantastic two hours signing books at the Ripon Bookshop on Saturday morning – and I have to give a huge thank you to Simon and Jill for hosting the event for me. Almost from the beginning I was busy – firstly readers who had already bought and read the book popped in to chat and support and for my signature, then there was a steady stream of people who purchased the book for me to sign – among them was a tutor from my university days – a fellow member of The Richard III Society – who lives locally and wanted to chat about my research. The Clerk to our City Council even dropped in to buy the book and the Mayor and Mayoress designate of Harrogate popped in to say hello. It was a delightfully busy two hours – I met so many lovely readers who will now be reading ‘Renaissance.’ The only really, really frustrating downside was that in all the flurry of activity – having brought my camera with me – I forgot to get pictures taken – you can all guess how hard I am kicking myself that I cannot show you what fun I had – hence the image of the me, the bookshop and the bookcover. I’ll do better next time I do this!!
