It was such a great pleasure spending the morning in the in the Community Library of the lovely Georgian market town of Bedale, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales on Wednesday 27th November. Added to which I was in the company of three talented authors – Maggie Cobbett, Kathleen Swann and Neelie Wicks. We were a really diverse little group of writers – a historical fiction author (me), a poet (Kathleen) a writer of children’s books (Neelie) and a writer whose books include murder, mystery and historical stories (Maggie). Our audience was so interested in and appreciative of our very different presentations and the library volunteers made us so welcome – we all loved the delicious home-baked cake and biscuits.

To top my morning off – when I took a little time to explore the beautiful Georgian townhouse that is home to the Library, I found the stunning Wedgewood ballroom. The weather may have been grey, damp and dreary but the day itself was full of metaphorical sunshine.

Thank you Bedale Community Library for inviting us.
